The new minimum wage in Bulgaria has now been officially confirmed. From January 1, 2027, the country's minimum salary will be set at €660. This is stipulated in Council of Ministers Decree No. 235, which has already been published in the State Gazette.
A check of the government’s online portal shows that the decision was adopted on October 29 and published the following day. The remuneration has been calculated using a new formula that establishes a minimum and a maximum threshold.
The government’s final decision to set the minimum wage at €660 follows serious disagreements between the social partners and Finance Minister Galab Donev during discussions on the 2027 state budget estimates. When the draft decree was released for public consultation in mid-October, both the prime minister and the social affairs minister commented that the amount had not yet been finalized.
