“We’ll see how we’ll continue participating in this configuration,” he said during an event of his party’s youth organization
There are many criticisms against the government, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said here on Saturday, adding that officials are being replaced en masse. “We’ll see how we’ll continue participating in this configuration,” he said during an event of his party’s youth organization.
Borissov, who is also former prime minister, said that GERB supports 36 Continue the Change MPs, who are ruling 100%, except for the Foreign Ministry.
The leader of GERB also criticized the government for its failure to deal with illegal migration, which, in his words, is the main problem of the country in terms of its accession to Schengen. He elaborated on the difference in terms of perception and said that during his governance in coalition with the Patriotic Front, Bulgaria was given as example of maintaining border security.
According to the GERB leader, the Interior Minister should be asked why and who made him replace the heads of regional structures. Borissov added that the boards are being changed of the lottery, the State Consolidation Company and many other structures.
Commenting the fuel prices, Borissov said that they are being increased speculatively at a time when people are travelling the most. In his words, the reason for that is weak control and monopoly, which served Russian interests.
He rendered the chaos in the country in the last three years as “complete” and said that a lot of talks are going to be held with CC and DB. "If this is the “configuration”, that ugly word, I don't see how we will continue to participate in this way, because nothing is being done for the people”, Borissov said, adding that the passing of the budget and laws, the starting of the judicial reform and constitutional changes are important. “But it makes sense to "assemble" if something good happens for the people”, he stressed.
The former prime minister also discussed Vassil Bojkov’s surprise return on Friday. “I sincerely hope that Mr. Bojkov has return to resolve the problems with justice - to clear his name if innocent, and if he is guilty, we have a judicial system for that,” he said.
Regarding Alexey Petrov’s murder, Borissov expressed condolences to the relatives and hope that the investigators will be able to do their job as they did during his governance in previous attacks.
Borissov also commented on GERB’s readiness for the upcoming local elections. In his words, even the polling agencies, which he views as “very close to CC" give a 4 - 5% difference in favour of GERB. He pointed out that there is a great competition for the lists, "which is good, because a lot has been done, but there is also a lot to do and we will do it through the youth." He added that the party's current mayors who are doing well will be nominated again.
