Daytime temperatures will fluctuate between 5 and 10 degrees in the first half of the month
Cold and rainy weather is expected over the coming days, with rainfall in some areas potentially reaching 30 to 50 litres per square metre in 24 hours at the beginning of the new week. This was forecast by meteorologist Krasimir Stoev from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology presented on NOVA NEWS.
The reason is an influx of cold air from Eastern Europe towards the Balkans and the passage of a cyclone that will bring heavy precipitation.
Over the coming days, the weather will remain cloudy, with precipitation in many parts of the country. Maximum temperatures will range between 10 and 15 degrees. A more significant change is expected on Monday and Tuesday, when weather conditions will deteriorate. The heaviest rainfall is forecast in parts of Western Bulgaria and the Upper Thracian Plain. Due to falling temperatures overnight and in the morning, rain may temporarily mix with snow in the far western regions and in the highland areas.
The cold and wet weather will persist throughout the first half of November. According to Stoev, average temperatures during this period are expected to be below climatic norms, while precipitation levels will be above them. After a brief break in the middle of the first ten-day period, conditions favourable for cyclonic precipitation are expected to return towards the end of that period. As a result, the beginning of the month will be colder and wetter than is usual for the season.
