Central heating in Sofia is about to be gradually restored

The gradual rollout of central heating in Sofia will begin on Thursday. Schools and kindergartens will be the first to receive heating, followed by residential and administrative buildings, Toplofikatsiya Sofia announced.

The decision was made in anticipation of colder weather next week. Forecasts indicate that average daily temperatures will fall below the seasonal norms.

The company claims that customers who would prefer their buildings’ heating to be switched on at a later date can request a delay. To do so, they must submit an application at a Toplofikatsiya Sofia customer service centre, accompanied by minutes documenting a decision adopted at a general meeting of the condominium owners.

All repairs to a building’s internal heating system must be completed before the heating is switched on. If the system has been drained, it must be refilled. Otherwise, the heat supply will not be restored.

Toplofikatsiya Sofia advises residents to open their radiator valves fully. This will help ensure that the heating starts operating normally and reduce the need for additional bleeding of radiators.

Customers should also check whether the electronic heat-allocation devices installed on their radiators are working. If a device’s display shows no information, they should contact their heat-accounting company.
