We are celebrating Labor Day and International Workers' Solidarity Day. May 1st is one of the official holidays in our country.

Labor Day was first celebrated in Bulgaria in 1890 by the Topographical Society. In 1939, May 1 was declared an official holiday, and starting in 1945, the communist government began celebrating it annually.

Traditionally, labor unions organize various events to raise awareness of workers’ rights.
