“It was blown up on Bulgarian territory, 100 meters from the border with Romania”, Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced
This morning at 8:10 a.m., a drone violated Bulgarian airspace. It was shot down on Bulgarian territory, 100 meters from the border with Romania. Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced this in a statement to the media following a meeting of the Security Council of the Council of Ministers today.
According to border guards who were in the area, a loud explosion accompanied by black smoke was heard, and the drone crashed into a sunflower field. Efforts are underway to identify the type of drone. According to the prime minister, the drone carried a substantial amount of explosives, as evidenced by the fact that the explosion was audible from a distance and produced such thick black smoke.
No unidentified drone has been detected in Romanian airspace, nor in our airspace, the Radev announced. There is also no information from the Combined Air Operations Center, which monitors the airspace over all of Southern Europe.
