Here are the initial proposals
Burgas now has two unusual proposals for the “Eurovision 2027” mascot - Kapi the capybara, proposed by the Burgas Zoo, and the Euroseagull, proposed by the Burgas State Puppet Theater.
Why exactly a capybara as the Eurovision mascot? Although the animal isn’t native to Burgas, the zoo in the seaside city believes that this is precisely its charm. “Eurovision” brings together different countries, cultures and people around one stage and one kind of music. And the capybara seems to do the same - calm, good-natured and always ready to be friends with everyone”, the zoo representatives note.
Another proposal for the official mascot of the song contest, which will take place in May 2027, comes from the Burgas State Puppet Theater. It is the Euro Seagull.
“What could be a more fitting mascot for "Eurovision" and a symbol of Burgas than the Burgas seagull? And who better to create puppets and mascots than the Burgas Puppet Theater? That’s why we propose that a seagull from our show "Burgas Seagulls" become EuroGull - the mascot of "Eurovision 2027"!”, say representatives of the Burgas Puppet Theater, adding: “Its unique "musical" voice is the sound we’re all used to in Burgas - part of our daily lives and a true auditory trademark of the city.”
And at a press conference in Burgas, BNT Director General Milena Milotinova noted that a competition for creative ideas is yet to come.
