Financial Times reported that Iran was considering attacks on US military facilities in Europe, including in Bulgaria
Bulgaria is taking pre-emptive and more intensive measures in response to the current level of the threat. This was said by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev at a briefing at the Council of Ministers.
Earlier today, the Financial Times reported that Iran was considering attacks on US military facilities in Europe, including in Bulgaria. Last month, Bulgaria approved the use of Bezmer Air Base by US aircraft for refuelling.
“Regarding Bezmer Air Base, in coordination with the Ministry of Defence and under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we have taken all possible measures. We have taken precautions. The measures are for a much higher level of threat than the one actually being reported through the security services. We are constantly monitoring the situation and developments,” Demerdzhiev assured.
