The “Patriot” system could be deployed in Didimoticho - on the border with Bulgaria
Greece is prepared to respond to Iran’s threats of possible strikes against U.S.-used military facilities in Southeast Europe, including in Bulgaria. If necessary, the Greek government is ready to defend Bulgarian airspace, BNR reported.
Athens is prepared to assist Sofia by deploying the “Patriot” missile defense system, Greek media reported, citing sources from the Ministry of Defense.
The likely location for the system’s deployment is Didymoticho, on the border with Bulgaria. Greek officials emphasize that this would be possible only if Sofia requests support, and that Athens’ decision would be a political one.
