U.S. Air Force tanker aircraft have departed from Bulgaria

On Thursday the U.S. Air Force refueling aircraft left Bezmer and departed from Bulgaria. This was stated by Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov.

“We have been working in coordination with the U.S. government these past few days and had advance information. That is why our decisions are well-founded. During the aircraft’s stay in Bezmer, not a single flight was conducted southward. All flights were for training purposes over the airspace of allied countries to the west and northwest. This is in contrast to the exercise conducted with 15 aircraft at Vasil Levski Airport, where all flights were for logistical support of combat operations”, the minister added.

He was adamant that there is no point in talking about threats. “We have never had any other information regarding direct threats to our national security”, he emphasized.
