Traffic restrictions around “St. Alexander Nevsky” due to “Gala in Sofia 2026”

Significant parking and traffic restrictions are being implemented around the St. Alexander Nevsky Memorial Church due to the “Gala in Sofia 2026” event. The measures will be in effect on August 23, 25 and 27, and traffic on key streets in the city center will be suspended during certain hours.

No Stopping or Parking (8:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.)

On the dates listed, parking is prohibited along the northern and southern curves of the square, with the exception of vehicles serving the event:

Along the northern arc: on the section from “Oborishte” Street to “11th August” Street.

Along the southern arc: on the section from “Oborishte” Street to “Shipka” Street.

Traffic closures (from 3:00 p.m. until the end of the event)

The following sections will be closed to vehicles:

“Oborishte” Street - from "Vasil Levski" Boulevard to "Dunav" Street;

“11th August” Street - from "Moskovska" Street to “Oborishte” Street;

“15 November” Street - from “Tsar Osvoboditel” Boulevard to “Oborishte” Street.

These restrictions do not apply to vehicles with special traffic permits or those directly serving the “Gala in Sofia 2026” event.
