Iran has information that U.S. KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft have left Bulgaria. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai at his weekly press conference on Monday, according to the Iranian state news agency IRNA.

“As for Bulgaria, we have already stated our position. We have also heard that several KC-135 tanker aircraft have left Bulgaria”, Baghai said. His comment came in response to a question about the possible use of U.S. military bases and facilities on European territory in the event of a new escalation of the conflict with Iran.

Bagai reiterated Tehran’s position that providing territory or military infrastructure to a country for the purpose of launching an attack against Iran would be viewed as participation in the aggression.

According to him, Iran has no issue with the Bulgarian people. He further noted that, from the very beginning, there have been public and political stances in Bulgaria against the use of the country for actions related to the conflict. “There is no reason for any country to be concerned about us, unless it has provided its bases, facilities, and equipment to the aggressor countries to carry out illegal actions”, stated the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Baghai added that Tehran reserves the right to respond against the source of any attack on Iran, describing this as the country’s right under international law.
