Businessman Iliyan Filipov, who was involved in the transport and construction industries, has been killed in Plovdiv.
Iliyan Filipov was the founder and manager of the transport company PIMK, which is among Europe's top ten. He was also president of the Botev Plovdiv football club. His name is also associated with the construction of the Hristo Botev Stadium in Plovdiv.
According to a statement by Bulgaria's Interior Ministry, a report of a man who had been shot was received at around 1 a.m. at an address in Plovdiv's "Hristo Smirnenski" neighbourhood. His death was established at the scene.
