Sofia Municipality is introducing the measures because of artillery salutes during the official ceremony
Sofia Municipality is introducing changes to traffic arrangements in the area of Eagle Bridge on Saturday, October 3, in connection with the official ceremony “Bulgaria Welcomes Tsar Samuil”.
From 1:50 p.m. to 2:20 p.m., the entry and movement of vehicles in both directions will be prohibited along Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi Boulevard, in the section between Eagle Bridge Square and General Gurko Street.
The traffic restrictions are being introduced because of the artillery salutes that will take place as part of the ceremony welcoming the remains of Tsar Samuil.
From 9 a.m. on October 3, vehicles will also be prohibited from entering and moving in both directions along Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, in the section between Georgi S. Rakovski Street and Independence Square, to allow preparations to be carried out at the site.
From 12 p.m. on October 3, traffic will be prohibited in both directions on several streets and boulevards, including Mimi Balkanska Street, Brussels Boulevard, Tsarigradsko Shose Boulevard, Lege Street, Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, Knyaz Aleksandar I Street, Dyakon Ignatiy Street, Georgi Benkovski Street, 6th of September Street, Tsar Shishman Street, 15th of November Street, Oborishte Street, Moskovska Street, Georgi S. Rakovski Street, Dunav Street and 11th of August Street.
The restrictions are related to the preparations for the ceremony marking the return of the remains of Tsar Samuil to Bulgaria.
