Due to the hot weather: Trucks will be stopped on the highways between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.

High temperatures exceeding 35 degrees are expected in the coming days, so there will be temporary restrictions on the movement of trucks weighing more than 20 metric tons. The measure will be in effect from August 4 to 6 during the hottest hours of the day - between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

The restriction applies to the Trakia, Maritsa, Hemus, Struma and Europa highways, as well as critical sections of the first- and second-class road networks. The goal is to minimize the risk of road surface damage and to protect the lives and health of travelers.

The ban does not apply to trucks transporting perishable food, temperature-controlled cargo, live animals, and hazardous materials. Regional road authorities are monitoring weather forecasts and adjusting traffic management in coordination with the “Traffic Police.”

Restrictions will also be in place on the following first- and second-class roads:

• Road I-1 Vidin–Vratsa (in the districts of Vidin, Montana, and Vratsa);

• Road I-2 Ruse–Varna (in the districts of Ruse, Razgrad, and Shumen, from km 12 to km 146);

• Road I-3 in the districts of Pleven, Lovech, and Veliko Tarnovo (on the section from km 7 to km 170, from the interchange near the village of Strahilovo to the Yablanitsa area);

• Road I-4 from Koritna to Shumen;

• Road I-5 in the districts of Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, and Haskovo (from km 6 to km 115, as well as the section from the Shipka Pass to the area of the village of Pchelarovo);

• The Sub-Balkan Highway I-6 (from the turnoff for Kalofer to the “Petolachkata” interchange);

• Road I-7 Silistra–Shumen;

• Road II-55 Debelets–Predela–Gurkovo (from Debelets to the village of Panicherevo, as well as the section between km 151 and km 186 in the Haskovo region);

• Road II-66 (from the village of Bogomilovo to the “Trakiya” Motorway interchange near the village of Svoboda);

• Road III-663 (on the Chirpan–Tselina section).
