The parties will collaborate in several priority healthcare areas

U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa and Bulgaria’s Health Minister Kiril Ananiev signed Friday a Letter of Intent for Cooperation in Healthcare between the Governments of the United States of America and Bulgaria. The agreement will cover an initial five-year period which may be extended by mutual decision.

Both countries agreed to expand their healthcare dialogue to a strategic level that builds on our cooperation to address the COVID-19 challenge. The parties will collaborate in several priority healthcare areas such as best practices for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases; e-health initiatives; and exchanges for training of medical professionals.

Ambassador Mustafa and Minister Ananiev noted the importance of a predictable, open, and transparent regulatory framework encouraging foreign investment, promoting fair competition and intellectual property rights protection, and facilitating greater two-way trade and investment and promoting economic growth.
