Measures have been taken to strengthen security at Bezmer Airport and in the country’s airspace, and to ensure the safety of citizens. This became clear following a meeting at the Council of Ministers between Prime Minister Rumen Radev and the security services, dedicated to the current security environment and the risks facing Bulgaria arising from the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
During the meeting, representatives of the security services assured that there is currently no direct threat to national security. They reported that Bulgarian institutions maintain a constant exchange of information with their partners in the region and within NATO to ensure timely warning in the event of a possible escalation of military hostilities.
They discussed enhanced control over the country’s airspace and measures to ensure the safety of Bulgarian citizens.
