DARA submits entries in four categories for the 2027 Grammy Awards

DARA has submitted an entry in the Best New Artist category for the 2027 Grammy Awards, sources from NOVA’s team have confirmed. Her song “Bangaranga” has also been submitted for consideration in three categories - Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

The nominees will be announced on November 16. More than 20,000 artists submit entries for consideration each year.

Darina Yotova, known professionally as DARA, created “Bangaranga” with an international team of songwriters. The song was selected to represent Bulgaria following a national selection in which it received the highest support from both the jury and the public. Bulgaria returned to the Eurovision Song Contest with the song after a three-year absence and won the competition for the first time.

Bulgaria has previously been represented at the prestigious international awards. In 1990, the choir “The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices” won a Grammy for the album Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, Volume 2. Bulgarian band FSB was also honoured that year for its work on the arrangement and production of the Latin hit “Cielito Lindo”.
