The new measure will come into force next week

Travelers will have to show a negative PCR test before being allowed into the UK, the government announced on Friday.

The new measure will come into force next week for UK nationals who return home as well as for foreign citizens. The test must be performed no more than 72 hours before boarding planes, boats or trains to the UK.

Arrivals will still be quarantined for 10 days, even with a negative test, unless they are coming from one of the countries deemed low risk on the government’s travel corridor list.
