The most recent information that the PM has is that there is agreement in Parliament on the final form of the anti-corruption law
Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov expects the leaders of the two parliamentary groups of the ruling majority, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria and GERB - UDF, to meet next week, the head of government told journalists here on Saturday.
The most recent information that the PM has is that there is agreement in Parliament on the final form of the anti-corruption law, and he expects its conclusive passage in a matter of days, which will meet one of this year's most important targets, in his words. He added that it is precisely the anti-corruption law that is one of the things that binds the governance together.
Denkov said that controversial businessman Alexey Petrov never attended the cabinet-forming discussions and did not propose any names for ministers. "I know how I picked the ministers, and I know how we discussed their nominations," the Prime Minister asserted. He admitted that Petrov may have met with someone, "but this is not cabinet formation." Denkov has not discussed the matter so far with Continue the Change Co-leader Kiril Petkov.
Asked what he thinks GERB leader Boyko Borissov implied when he said earlier in the day that Petrov "provided the logistics" for putting the cabinet together, the Prime Minister said: "I have no idea".
