More than 55,000 first-graders are starting school for the first time, joining more than 700,000 students across the country
Today is a festive day for Bulgarian education. As is traditionally the case, schools across the country are opening their doors on September 15 to mark the start of the new school year.
More than 55,000 first-graders have crossed the school threshold for the first time today. They are among a total of more than 700,000 students across the country.
A total of 2,322 schools have opened their doors today.
Some 92,000 education professionals are responsible for the children’s education, including 20,000 working in kindergartens, which are also reopening today.
The Ministry of Education announced that a total of 2,000 STEM centers equipped with modern technology are opening their doors. The €250 million investment in the centers is being funded under Bulgaria’s Recovery and Resilience Plan.
