Bulgarians will vote for president and vice president on Sunday

Today is the day of reflection ahead of Sunday’s presidential election. The election campaign officially ended at midnight.

Political campaigning is prohibited both on the day of reflection and on election day. A total of 6,590,000 bulgarians will be eligible to vote for president and vice president tomorrow. Polling stations will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. If there are still voters waiting in line, voting may continue until 9 p.m.

If no presidential candidate pair is elected in the first round, a runoff will take place on November 1. To win in the first round, a candidate pair must receive more than 50% of the votes, and voter turnout must also be at least 50%.

On the day of reflection, local authorities may ban the sale of alcohol.
