Who is Miroslav Petkov and how did he earn this distinction

A Bulgarian beat out competition from over 3,000 uniformed officers to become Atlanta's Police officer of the year. Miroslav Petkov is only 27 years old and already holds the award.

He is from Lyaskovets, but moved to the United States at the age of 7. In 2021 he became a police officer.

"For me, it's just a job. I'm glad I received the award, but every day I go to work and strive to give my best," he said.

In his free time, he is a devoted husband and father.
