One of the documents concerns the opportunities for building an oil pipeline between Alexandroupolis and Burgas

Bulgaria and Greece signed a memorandum of cooperation to explore the opportunities for building an oil pipeline between Alexandroupolis and Burgas. The document was signed by the energy ministers of the two countries during President Rumen Radev's visit to Athens on Thursday. They also signed a memorandum of cooperation in guaranteeing the security, supply and storage of natural gas.

"The Alexandroupolis-Burgas oil pipeline is strategic. It provides an opportunity for effective diversification and for alternative supplies of non-Russian oil to the Burgas refinery, which is the largest in the Balkans. The pipeline will prevent long waits and the risk of tankers crossing the straits," President Radev said.

"Greece and Bulgaria can become energy suppliers for the whole Europe", Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis commented.
