In just one month the retail price of diesel has risen by more than 17%
Retail fuel prices in Bulgaria have risen sharply over the past month. According to data from the Fuelo.net platform, diesel prices hit a record high over the past 30 days, jumping by more than 17%.
According to experts, the outlook for August is not optimistic. They warn of a further increase of between 5 and 6% for both types of widely used fuel.
“We saw a very sharp spike in diesel prices in July. Even at the start of the war, prices didn’t rise by more than 30 cent wholesale and 25–26 cent at the pump. I expect that in the short term, prices will remain around 1.80 euro, or even higher. As early as next week, we’ll see diesel fuel above 1.80 euro. Gasoline prices will be close to 1.60 euro almost everywhere. “The price of natural gas will likely be around 65 cent”, said Dimitar Hadjidimitrov of the Association of Bulgarian Fuel Traders, Producers, Importers, and Transporters.
