Our country adopts the single currency from 1 January 2026

Bulgaria has opened a new chapter in its modern history by taking the last two steps to join the euro area. Our country is now finally accepted after the vote in the European Parliament in Strasbourg and the Economic and Financial Affairs Council in Brussels.

Our country has been given a date for the introduction of the single European currency - 1 January 2026. The prices of goods and services will be compulsorily displayed in lev and euro from August until the end of next year.
