Trucks weighing more than 12 tons are prohibited from traveling on the road through the Kresna Gorge and on the "Trakia" Highway.

The Road Infrastructure Agency notes that the restriction will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. today and from 3:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. The goal is to ensure safer traffic by reducing the likelihood of improper passing and the formation of lines of heavy-duty trucks during peak hours.

Alternative routes have been provided for drivers - via the Sub-Balkan Highway to the coast and through Simitli and Gotse Delchev to Greece.
