Control over driving by unlicensed motorists in settlements will be tightened, said the Ministry
Caretaker Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev has ordered that a set of 13 measures roll out to reduce road accidents, said his Ministry Monday. It points out that ensuring traffic safety is among the key priorities announced by this Interior Ministry team.
Additional police forces - some 8,500 - will be deployed to control traffic safety. Traffic police will prioritize a linear approach in which they will be part of the traffic and monitor the behaviour of other participants and look out for violations of all kind.
Control over driving by unlicensed motorists in settlements will be tightened, said the Ministry.
The announcement of the measures comes in the wake of a Trakia Motorway accident with a Serbian bus driving children back home from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which sent several people in hospital in serious condition.
